The remarkable Ford EcoBoost engines bring improvements in fuel economy and reductions in emissions, too.
The new Focus takes Ford kinetic Design to the next level. From its low profile and purposeful stance, to details like the new bonnet design, gloss black grille and wrap-around tail lamps, this is a car with real presence – whether it’s moving or standing still.
The bold look continues inside with a state-of-the-art centre console and instrument displays, high quality trim and superb detailing.
The new Focus is filled with the latest intelligent, intuitive technology and whether it’s to keep you connected, entertained, informed or safe (or to help you enjoy the sheer exhilaration of driving), every feature is there for a reason
Safety is high on the agenda with the new Focus, high tech equipment is used to ensure you and your passengers stay safe, making the vehicle unique to any competition. To name a few features, the Focus includes;
Lane Departure Warning
If you accidentally stray from your lane, the Lane Departure Warning system alerts you by sending three short vibrations through your steering wheel. It will also show a visual alert on your driver information cluster. If you don’t react to the Lane Departure Warning, the Lane Keeping Aid will help steer you smoothly back into the correct lane.
Driver Alert
Driver Alert helps keep you safe by continuously monitoring your driving performance. It can tell if you’re tired or distracted and will display a ‘rest recommended’ message. If it detects a sudden loss of attention (if you’re drifting across a lane, for example), a warning chime and additional visual alerts are triggered.
Auto High Beam
When your headlights are turned on, this system automatically switches them between high and low beam, depending on traffic or lighting conditions. When it detects oncoming traffic, it dips the lights then returns them to high beam when the road is clear. Similarly, if you’re driving in a poorly lit area the lights will set themselves to high beam until the street lighting makes it safe to switch back.
Low Speed Safety System
Front-end collisions in slow-moving traffic are among the most common types of accident. The Low Speed Safety System is designed to reduce the likelihood of having such an accident, or significantly reduce the impact if you do. Infra-red sensors continually monitor your distance from the car in front. If that vehicle reduces speed sharply or stops within a 12 metre range the system pre-charges your brakes to help you avoid an accident. If you’re still travelling at under 25 mph and don’t react in time, the car’s brakes are applied automatically to help stop you.
Car Magazine; “The Focus is another fine Ford! One that’s made great strides in terms of comfort and refinement, is good value for money and has some interesting new tech features.”
The Telegraph; “At one point, more than 1,500 Ford engineers were working on this project and it shows. On paper it looks good, but within 50 yards you can tell it’s better than that. The Focus is back with a bang, with the competition running scared and a driving pleasure that some BMWs can only dream about.”
