Interior

You’ll find the look and feel of the interior has been influenced by contemporary fashion, while the centre console nods to the latest mobile phone technology. Its ergonomic design puts all driving, entertainment and communication controls intuitively at your fingertips. Screens, buttons and switches are simple to use, while warm, ambient lighting, together with a range of carefully designed colours and fabrics, creates an inviting and comfortable cabin.

The Fiesta’s design has been heavily influenced by the look, style and feel of Now, but that’s only half the story. Inside, every piece of technology, every new feature, has been examined and the learnings gleaned from a variety of different industries applied to them. The result is a car that’s as innovative as it is chic.

Rain-sensing wipers and auto-headlights

Rain-sensing wipers offer six levels of sensitivity, springing into action automatically at the first drop of rain and increasing in speed to deal with whatever the weather can throw at you. Aside from the added convenience, it gives you one less thing to think about.

It also comes with lighting technology designed to make night-time driving easier, safer and more comfortable. Auto-headlights turn on when the sensors detect that light is fading. So at dusk, at night, or when you enter a tunnel, you can simply continue to enjoy the drive, knowing the Fiesta will take care of all those mundane functions.

Headlamp courtesy delay

When you arrive home after an enjoyable night out, flash the left stalk and the headlights will stay on for a short while, illuminating the way to your door.

Bluetooth® with Voice Control

Bluetooth® with Voice Control technology lets you connect wirelessly to your mobile phone. You just use your voice to make and receive calls, change the radio station or CD track and adjust the temperature or fan settings safely when EATC is fitted.

MP3 and USB connector

The centre console of Fiesta has a multifunctional display which connects you with your MP3 player directly through an AUX jack and/or a USB port or via a USB port. You can then easily scroll and select music tracks using the centre console, or toggles mounted on the steering wheel.

Mobile Navigation

Turn your Bluetooth®-enabled mobile smart phone into a navigation unit. Simply insert the navigation chip, enter your journey details and the phone will transmit route data to the car’s audio system.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Emergency Brake-force Distribution (EBD)

ABS stops the brakes from locking the wheels. This helps prevent skidding if you have to brake when cornering or need to make an emergency stop. For further stability when braking, this system comes with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). This ensures full braking force is available whenever necessary, helping reduce stopping distances in an emergency. Should you need to brake heavily, the hazard warning lights automatically come on to alert other drivers.

Park Assist

Front and rear sensors make parking and manoeuvring both safer and easier. An audible warning helps you judge the distance between your car and any obstacle behind or in front of you. So when you find a space you can demonstrate to any spectators how to park quickly and confidently.

The Fiesta’s robust body has been built using ultra high-strength steels and specially shaped body panels. This makes the car lighter and tougher than ever before and affords maximum protection for you and your passengers.

IPS is a clever series of measures that work together to deliver incredible levels of occupant safety. The rigid passenger safety cell has energy-absorbing crumple zones, both front and rear, to reduce the effects of impact. We’ve added more airbags to minimise injury, in addition to fitting advanced seat and seat belt technology designed to keep driver and passengers safely in their seats.

Airbags

You will feel a lot safer knowing that, along with the driver and passenger front airbags, now the driver has a knee airbag. We’ve also fitted side airbags with head and thorax protection, or inflatable curtain airbags to protect passengers in both the front and back.  

Seat and seatbelt technology

Everyone in the Fiesta has the added protection of three-point seat belts. New retractor pretensioner seat belts have been fitted in the front, and work in tandem with anti-submarining seats designed to reduce the risk of whiplash in the event of a collision. Finally, the safety belt reminder system ensures that anyone in the front seat is encouraged to buckle up.

ISOFIX child seat attachments

The safety, comfort and protection of your children is paramount. ISOFIX mounting brackets for child seat attachments are fitted on the two outer rear seats of the Fiesta.

Ratings for reassurance

It’s always good to have additional reassurance from a specialist technical body that the Fiesta has achieved high levels of safety. In fact, the Fiesta has been awarded top marks with a 5 star Euro NCAP rating for adult occupant safety, a further 4 stars for child protection and 3 stars (out of a maximum 4) for pedestrian protection.

Security

The first line of defence is the perimeter alarm. Then there are the locks: all high-security, anti-burst and shielded with strengthened mountings. For extra measure, there’s our patented Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) immobiliser, which means only your pre-programmed key will start the engine.
