As part of the range of Ford ECOnetic Technologies, Ford EcoBoost petrol engines deliver more torque and power as well as reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. While the new 2.0-litre Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engines are engineered to deliver responsive performance and low cost of ownership.

With its angled front and jewel-like headlights and aerodynamic shape, the Galaxy has always had a beautifully sleek profile. Now with design refinements like the sculpted bonnet, chrome detailing, and lower, more pronounced bumper and grille, the new Galaxy conveys an added sense of elegance.

Galaxy has sleek, flowing lines. The lower stance gives it a more aerodynamic shape, while there are numerous stylish touches including: Chrome-finish door handle inserts, Chrome door waistline, Bodyside moulding with chrome insert and bright-finish front grille air intakes. The upper grille design now features three narrow horizontal bars with a chrome finish (though not when the vehicle is fitted with Adaptive Cruise Control).

The lower grille also features a chrome finish on the Ghia and Titanium versions, for a dynamically pronounced look.

The new LED tail lights design is typical of the attention to detail to be found throughout Galaxy. This stylish design is also more energy efficient than previous versions, due to its use of the latest LED technology.

Blind Spot Information System

This high-tech visual aid is designed to make longer journeys a far more relaxing experience. As another vehicle enters your blind spot, the system alerts you with a discreet warning lamp built into the driver’s and passenger's door mirror. (Option)

Ford Fold FlatSystem (FFS)

You could be a DIY enthusiast, or your daughter’s mountain bike could need picking up, or maybe you’ve been nominated as roadie for your son’s band. Whatever you and your family need to carry, Galaxy is flexible enough to cope. FFS means each rear seat folds down flush with the floor, plus the second-row seats can also slide and tilt. In total, there are an astonishing 32 possible seating combinations.

Static cornering lights

Integrated into the halogen Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) and bi-xenon HID headlights, static cornering lights are activated when you turn the steering wheel 30°. These give even more light on sharper bends, to help you avoid any potential problems.

Quickclear heated windscreen

At the touch of a button, heating elements within the windscreen activate immediately to quickly and conveniently clear it of ice and mist.

Ford Power starter button

You no longer need to insert the key into the ignition to start the car. You simply push the power button while holding the clutch down (or brake pedal on an automatic) and the engine fires into life. Also available with the Ford Key-Free System: the keyless entry system that lets you lock and unlock your car without taking your key out of your pocket or bag.

Home Safe Lighting

The headlights and optional (or standard on high series) puddle lights stay on for a few extra seconds as you walk away from your car. A convenient feature that should help you see your way safely to your door at night.

Audio systems

Galaxy has a range of audio options that add a new dimension to your in-car music experience. For example, you can choose the high-performance Sony audio system with a DAB digital radio. There’s also MP3 playback capability (with a Bluetooth® option), as well as an external AUX jack and a USB port for plugging in and controlling your MP3 player.

Individual Rear Seat Entertainment System (DVD)

Ford Galaxy’s in-car entertainment features a built-in DVD player with two independently-operated 7" LCD screens, remote control and two wireless headphones. So even your most demanding passengers can enjoy their own personal space with movies and computer games. Includes Component AV inputs. (Option)

When Galaxy earns the maximum 5-star Euro NCAP rating for adult occupant safety, you know this is a car that takes safety seriously. With the latest in driver and occupant protection technologies, the key element in our passive safety package is the IPS.

This includes the following advanced systems, ready to spring into action in a fraction of a second: Airbags for overall protection. These include: driver’s and front passenger’s airbags, front side impact airbags, front-row and second-row side-curtain airbags (deployed from the headlining) and driver’s knee airbag
