Hills Ford are offering a new service called Econo Check which monitors your driving technique, taking into account factors such as acceleration, point of gear shifting, engine speed and engine coolant temperature. It then provides personalised recommendations on how to adapt your driving style to make you more fuel efficient, thereby reducing not only your driving expenses but also your carbon footprint.
Econo Check is essentially a ‘dongle’ – a bit like a computer memory stick which can be connected to a Ford engine – and it carries out an in-depth analysis of your driving style over a period of a week. At the end of the week, this then generates an easy to understand Ford Econo Check report for you containing suggestions on how to optimise your driving style.
“We all want to keep on top of escalating fuel prices without necessarily having to leave our car at home,” explained Joint Managing Director Tim Hill. “What many drivers don’t realise is that their driving style contributes considerably to their level of fuel consumption and that simple changes could cut this by a quarter.”
You can take advantage of Econo Check for just £29.99 and included in that price is a 35 point check on your vehicle, carried out by a highly skilled technician, including those parts relating to fuel consumption such as checking the tyre pressure is correct and the air filter is clean. Also included for a limited period, is a £15 cash back voucher to use at a BP petrol station and a £15 voucher to redeem off a Ford Scheduled Service.
Econo Check can be carried out on the majority of Ford cars up to 12 years old (1998 onwards) as well as Transits and Transit Connects.
