Just a brief update on Claire’s progress at the Nationals in Manchester so far:-
Tuesday 8th March- 100m free- final time; 1.05.54. Time to qualify 1.05.52 (so just missed out)
Weds 9th March- 100 fly- heats time; 1.14.23
Unfortunately Claire had to pull out of the final because of stomach cramps and sickness, the team coach was worried enough to take her to A&E, the only thing that they could find was a slightly lower white blood count. She had a good night sleep and was clearly refreshed for this morning’s heats of the 200IM (one of her main events)
Thursday 10th March- 200 IM- qualified in the heats for the European championships with a 2.39.38 and no doubt will be trying to improve on that in this evenings final (Claire in the European record holder for this event with a time of 2.37.36)
