25th-29th - Holding Camp Manchester:"The preparations for the Europeans begin. We have all been allocated lane groups and coaches who will work with us throughout the trip. Generally we all bring our own individual sessions from our home coaches as at this time it is very specific to each individual. One of the aims of the camp was also to practice relay takeover as these camps are the only opportunity to bring the whole relay team together.  On the final evening the Hilton hotel invited us to go to the famous Cloud23 bar. It is a bar on the 23rd floor which has fantastic views across the whole of Manchester. We enjoyed this whilst sipping on a cocktail, NON-alcoholic of course."

29th June"I am eventually in Berlin after a 10 hour journey from Manchester; it is 29 degrees at 8 p.m. This is the final phase before racing at the European Championships so I am feeling very excited. The hotel is really nice and food is good."

1st July - 2 days to go:"I had a quick paddle in the pool to keep in contact with the water and feel good. This is the most important phase as you know there is nothing more you can do, all the hard work in and out the water is done so it is important to do all the little things right including sleep, nutrition and trying to stay relaxed (easier said than done!). Eventually my results came out and to my relief I got a 2:1 from Leeds University which I was extremely happy with!"

2nd July – 1 day to go:"I have just had my final swim before my first race tomorrow. After my session we had a quick tour around the building to familiarise ourselves with the call up rooms, swim down pools, media zone etc. I felt very nervous however excited at the same time.I am now going to spend the rest of the day relaxing and making sure I am 100 percent prepared for tomorrow." Thanks for all your support,Claire xx
