Go hands-free with SYNC 3
The new Ford C-MAX deliver more efficiency, practicality and refinement than ever with a new powertrain line-up and even more advanced technologies.
The five-seat C-MAX offers Ford’s Hands-Free Liftgate, new Perpendicular Parking system and improved Active City Stop collision avoidance technology that now works at speeds of up to 50 km/h. C-MAX also is offered with Ford’s new 1.5-litre EcoBoost and 1.5-litre TDCi engines, including a 99 g/km CO2 1.5-litre ECOnetic diesel.
The C-MAX family has been restyled to reflect the One Ford global design language and is available in new exterior colours Red Rush and a stylish brown-grey shade called Caribou. The dynamic styling delivers a stronger, sleeker front end, featuring Ford’s distinctive inverted trapezoidal grille. The washer jets have been hidden underneath the windscreen to complement the cleaner look of the restyled bonnet. The New Ford C‑MAX also features Ford’s innovative twin sliding doors and “walk-through” seat design for greater convenience, space and flexibility.
Sleeker, more chiselled front headlamps and more rectangular, elongated fog-lamps add to the bolder front end of both vehicles. The liftgate has been given a smoother and more sophisticated one-piece appearance using the latest laser-brazing technique, which applies cleaner and exceptionally strong welds to thin sheets of metal. A compact tail lamp design completes the contemporary look.
A range of advanced, time-and effort-saving technologies, cleverly packaged into a flexible and spacious family car.
Available with a hands-free liftgate that opens and closes with a simple wave of your foot under the rear bumper: ideal when you’ve got your hands full.
Technology should always have a purpose. And in a new C-MAX or Grand C-MAX that’s to keep you as comfortable, connected and safe as possible.
So discover a range of remarkable technologies that are simple to use, or simply work for you.
Go hands-free with SYNC 3
SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the 8” Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.
Active Park Assist technology can help you park hands-free into parallel spaces and make it easier to park into perpendicular spaces (like multi-storey carparks). The technology can detect a space then control the steering as you reverse into it. Side Parking Aid warns you of any obstructions and Park Out Assist is designed to help steer you out of the tightest of spaces.
Sensing Danger and Providing Protection – Ford’s C-MAX Family Delivers a Safer Drive.
The five-seat Ford C-MAX offers a wide range of technologies designed to help drivers mitigate, or even avoid, incidents.
Should sensors detect the car is approaching a vehicle in the road ahead too quickly the system pre-charges the brakes and alerts the driver. If the driver does not respond to alerts the system automatically applies the brakes to reduce the impact of collisions across a speed range of 8-180 km/h (5-112 mph)
Active City Stop
Works in a similar way to Active Braking, the latest system now operates at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph), up from 30 km/h (19 mph)
Adaptive Cruise Control
Enables drivers to maintain a set distance from the vehicle ahead, even when that vehicle is travelling more slowly than the cruise speed. For occasions when Adaptive Cruise Control is not active, Distance Indication enables drivers to set a preferred distance they would like to maintain with the vehicle ahead. Should the driver get any closer, the system issues a three-stage dashboard display warning – from grey to yellow to red.
Adaptive Front Lighting System
Adjusts the headlight beam angle to one of seven settings depending on traffic and road conditions. For example; when cornering at lower speeds, the system will project a beam towards the side of the road to make cyclists and pedestrians more visible. The system also will support drivers cornering at higher speeds by directing light further into the bend.
Cross Traffic Alert
Warns drivers reversing out of a parking space of vehicles that may soon be crossing behind them. Operating with radar at a range of up to 40 metres (131 feet), the system will issue three distinct warning signals if it detects a vehicle approaching from either side.
A Ford-first technology that enables owners to programme a key – usually for younger drivers – that restricts the top speed, reduces the maximum volume of the audio system, and can disable the audio system altogether if driver and passengers are not using safety belts. The system also can prevent the driver from deactivating safety technologies such as Traction Control.
